Wilmar Heights Baptist Church (WHBC) has taken another small step in expanding its borders to the glory of God.

On August 4th, 2009, at about seven in the evening, a group of twenty persons from the church, led by
Pastor Tai  Adeboboye, pulled up outside a house in Bloor Court, a small neighbourhood in the city. Their mission: to reach out to the world, as local missionaries,

through and to the
refugees temporarily making a home at Adam House in Toronto.

Adam House is a wonderful story residing in the hearts of now over 1200 refugees - and the number keeps rising - from various countries. They have come to Canada over the last seven years seeking their land of promise. Many have been successfully integrated into Canadian society, and others have done so significantly. Pastor David, the Head of the household, says Adam House is not a shelter - it’s a family home.  Indeed this old, large family home was once reconstructed into apartments then bought over again and returned to the family home it is now as Adam House.

This evening the local missionaries from Wilmar Heights Baptist Church bring food to share with new friends while their pastor shared the Word
Pastor Tai and wife Marian

Pastor Tai's wife, Marian, led in song playing her guitar, blending with  the voices of the impromptu choir.  One week later the same group, travelling in convoy from Scarborough, returned to Adam House. This time, one of the WHBC leaders, Neil Morgan, shared his testimony of coming to Christ and meeting Him at the crossroads of Canada.  Indeed, Canada and Christ come together as a crossroad where significant change is taking place for the refuges at Adam House.

Lucy Hill, Program Manager at Adam House, now seven years old, says the mission of Adam House is Sharing the Word
of God, Caring For the Individual”.

There’s much more to learn about Adam House and Wilmar Heights Baptist Church. This is a work in progress. Aren’t we all?
