|Through the leadership of Pastor Tai, Camp Imani Day Campopened its door for the first time to children and family in our community and in the church in the summer of 2005. It began with a vision to instill Faith into the lives of our children in four different areas.
The name Imani means Faith in Swahili.
First: We endeavour to build Faith in God in our campers by sharing the gospel and love of Christ with them.
Second: Teach them to have Faith in their Parents as they are God’s covering over them.
Third: Endeavour to build the campers up by teaching them to have Faith in Themselvesthrough the various field and indoor activities they participated in.
|Fourth: our goal is to challenge campers to have Faith in the System by bringing in speakers who are successful community leaders and positive role models.
A day of camp consists of group games, singing, talent shows, theme dress up days, Bible study and field trips to places such as Wild Water Kingdom, Ontario Science Center and Ontario Place. At the end of each 2 week camp session, parents were invited to the camp’s closing session where the gospel is presented.
